These are our main spray products:
- Laryngeal Spray Original,
- Laryngeal Spray Chromoglycate and
- Laryngeal Spray Salbutamol
presented in two fashions, for your choice.
You have the special sprays with :
- the nasopharyngeal cannula (easier to apply) or
- the intratracheal syringe device (more accurate, but requires some skills).
Laryngeal Spray Original
Horses with upper airway obstruction or any of these diseases can keep on training and racing with the application of Laryngeal Spray by means of its nasopharyngeal cannula.
Laryngeal Spray, thanks to the size of the drop it produces (and due to the speed of propellation), is the only device that deposits the medicament on the mucoses of the upper respiratory airways permitting the exact determination of the area to be treated: ethmoid larynx, pharynx, guttural pouches, and even getting into them through its openings under endoscopic or fibroscopic control.
The solution of therapeutic components and propellants inside the container of the Laryngeal Spray, together with the nasopharyngeal cannula, originated this brand new therapeutical product that permits the direct application and dosage on target organs in upper respiratory and extratorax diseases in sport equines.
A wide spectrum fungicide with an anti-inflammatory, carried by a solvent of extraordinary pharmacological features, makes it possible to be absorbed through the tissular membranes of the active substances dissolved in it. The Laryngeal Spray has an incredible anti-inflammatory, desensitizing, analgesic and bacteriostatic power.
The solution must be used only locally through the spray. Its nasopharyngeal cannula allows direct application and dosage by spraying these regions: nasal, ethmoidal, pharyngeal and larynx.
Laryngeal Spray Chromoglycate
Laryngeal Spray Chromoglycate is a desensitizer of processes that trigger the inflammatory reaction in lower respiratory ways with bronchoconstriction.
It's particularly prescribed for equines presenting COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary diseases) or EIPH (Exercise Induced Pulmonary Hemorrhage).
Laryngeal Spray Chromoglycate inhibits both the immediate and non-immediate bronchoconstrictive reactions to inhaled antigens.
Laryngeal Spray Chromoglycate also attenuates bronchospasm caused by exercise, toluene diisocyanate, aspirin, cold air, sulfur dioxide, and environmental pollutants, at least in some cases.
The effect of Laryngeal Spray Chromoglycate is usually evident after 3 or 4 weeks of treatment, although some equines show an almost immediate response.
It may be used in training and must be withdrawed 48-72 hrs before any kind of antidoping analysis. Its desensitizing and preventing effects on the bronchoconstriction lasts for one week.
Laryngeal Spray Chromoglycate has no role in the treatment of an acute attack of bronchospasm.
This product has no intrinsic bronchodilator or antihistamine activity.
Laryngeal Spray Salbutamol
It's a powerful bronchodilatador. Salbutamol (also known as Albuterol) relaxes the smooth muscles of all airways, from the trachea to the terminal bronchioles.
Especially indicated for treatment of acute episodes of bronchospasm or prevention of bronchoconstriction induced by the exercise.
It's perfect for equines that present COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary diseases) or EIPH (Exercise Induced Pulmonary Hemorrhage). The usual dosage for adult equines is 2 puffs, so as to deliver 400 mcg (200 mcg/puff) of Salbutamol through the valve.
Exercise Induced Bronchospasm Prevention: The usual dosage is 2 inhalations, 30 minutes before exercise. The effects last for 4 to 6 hrs.
